Kebar Forster

I am a BA Honors Fine Art Graduate, a member of YPAC, a full time mum and will soon be a part time volunteer at a Children's Centre. Currently I am not a practicing solo artist but I will be in the near fututre.

I like to use clothes as reminiscent articles of memory, sewing them together to create patched timelines in the form of soft sculptures, or segmenting sections as artefacts of human life on mixed media canvases. I use clothing as a means of expressing the physical growth of a person from tiny baby to elderly person, intrigued with this shedding of skin as clothes become outgrown. I create interactive installations too, which teeter between the claustrophobic and secure. These constructed, closed off spaces, allow the viewer to become participant and ‘enter‘ the work. My installations are transformed when created outside, into open, intricate and foreboding works which are constructed using many small items located in situ for a short period of time. These obscure creations are set up to be stumbled across by the public.

My involvement in YPAC has strengthened my
passion for engaging with the public. I am inspired by projects which aim to bring communities together and those which offer everyone the chance to be a part of our collaborative work.

Hannah Jump

I am a Plymouth based visual artist living in Cornwall.
I am heavily involved with the plymouth based U1 Artist Collective and Young Plymouth Arts Centre, organising, curating and hosting collective exhibitions and events, organising auctions and workshops and exhibiting her own work.
My work is on the cusp of reality and abstraction and is based on the transformation of everyday images into imaginative and dreamlike atmospheres, the process of doing so is intialised by using blind contour drawing which distorts the original image. Imagination and vivid colour finishes the process.
Often the distortion of figures contrasted with unusual colours and atmospheric landscapes create images that seem both dreamlike and nightmarish.

Also, I have recently been experimenting with different types of sculpture - the most recent being a wire and paper tree :)

Michael Chant (Project Git Surfer)

I am a audio/visual artist based in Plymouth. I studied Media Arts at the University of Plymouth and I now work with various art groups such as YPAC, U1 Artist Collective and Cafe Concrete. In recent times I have helped the YPAC group with their projects and have done work with U1 at the Maker Festival in July 2011. My work has been based on several different themes over the years. Last year I worked with surreal humor, while this year I have done work based on the current political climate and the effects it has made on society.

I have also done collaborations with various electronica musicians within Plymouth including Hip.P and Dj Rob Contort who organises live music events such as the Badgers Ball and Dimensional Schizm.

YPAC for me has been a fantastic opportunity to use art as a means to connect and work with the local community of Plymouth through various projects. It has also inspired me to work with other Art groups as well and to get me back into the world of creativity.
